I always get asked how are my eyelashes so long and what do I do to maintain them especially if I’m wearing false lashes on a regular basis. Well the key is Vaseline & castor oil. Yeah, literally Vaseline and castor oil!!!
These are my holy holy holy ass grail for looking after my lashes as well as strengthening them and lengthening them! I got told at the age of 12 by my aunt that if I wore Vaseline everyday consistently, I’d achieve the longest lashes possible and BOY was she not kidding. I have been putting Vaseline on my eyes ever since and always gotten complimented on them whenever I would either curl my lashes or put mascara on them; it truly makes a massive difference when you’re so consistent on something like this. I would get some on my index finger and rub it against my thumb to make it warm and then apply it onto my lash line and lashes. You can also do this with a spooly to be less messy but either way has the same effect. Doing this technique every night will do wonders I tell you.
Another thing you can use is castor oil. This is also my holy grail ever since my best friend told me how she achieves her long lashes. I started using this when I was around 17 and it has actually thickened my lashes. It’s known for thickening hair hence why it’s normally used on eyelashes as well as eyebrows. And I can confirm that it also does wonders for eyebrows aswell!! I had the thinnest eyebrows and it just allowed my brows to regenerated more hair thus making it thicker than before as you can see in the before and after. After discovering castor oil, I now add a drop of castor oil and mixed it with Vaseline which then I apply to my eyelashes every single night; it makes my lashes 10x thicker, longer and stronger. This is also super super great for the times you wear false lashes, as lash glue can sometimes weaken your lash follicles so then putting this on the nights you wore false lashes can be used as a treatment to help nourish and look after your natural lashes.
Another thing you could possible add to strengthen and lengthen your lashes and brows is using another of my holy grail which is sweet almond oil! Not only it lengthens your eyebrows and lashes, it is also great for the skin, under eyes as well as dry ends of your hair. I love to put this at night sometimes by adding two or three drops on the palm and warming it by rubbing the palms together then applying it all over my face! I learnt about this oil from tanji-s.uk blog when she first started and I fell in love! I started using it on my face every night without telling my friends about it because I really wanted to test it and see if it works. One day my group of friends asked why my face recently was so brightened and naturally glowing and I was so surprised when they said this because that’s when I was like well GUYS THIS SWEET ALMOND OIL ACTUALLY WORKING..!!!

The castor oil I use is from Naissance and the sweet almond oil is from Holland & Barrett (click for a direct link!)
I was actually over the moon because when something works for you and other people notice a difference on your skin, it makes you feel like you haven’t actually wasted your money and made a right purchase! That’s how I felt with this product. Sweet almond oil is packed with vitamin E, which is super great for fading scars as well as protecting your skin from uv radiation (not completely, don’t replace this with your spf!) It also makes your skin look super youthful giving you that natural glow. As vitamin E helps regenerate new skin cells thus allowing scars to fade, it also helps with fading dark under eye circles; this has been a life saver when it comes to this because asian people like me tend to get dark under eyes real quick but this has helped me recover them over time.
Also another way you can use sweet almond oil is applying it onto your hair, especially the dry dead ends. If you’re like me who wants to keep their long hair and also has bleached ends, adding couple drops into the palm, warming it by rubbing your hands together then applying it to the ends before you go sleep, can make a massive difference when you wake up. It won’t give a greasy feel (as long as you don’t apply more than 2-3 drops on your palm!) and you’ll wake up with it being slightly more nourished than the day before, which you don’t even have to wash it off because of how lightweight and non greasy it is/can be.
‼️ Test the oils on your forearm, applying a dime-sized amount and waiting 24 to 48 hours to see if you react before using on your skin. Do not use the oils on your skin if you’re allergic to any of the ingredients in food. ‼️
These tips will hopefully be having your lashes growing like no tomorrow as well as your brows and your skin glowing which everyone around you will for sure to notice!
Forever & always, T x
