Dear all, I hope you’re keeping well and safe. This post may be 6 weeks old but it can be a reminder in ways to feel at ease during this pandemic. The reason being of why I kept delaying this post (as much as I really wanted to put this out on the first day of being quarantined) third year deadlines were taking over my life like never before. Buuuut, it's never too late to set out reminders on how to be productive and taking care of yourself during this time. It is also the best time to plan ahead and see how you can get the best version of yourself out there in the remainder of this year, we should use this time to reflect mentally, physically and spiritually as we will never have this time to ourselves again (god forbid for an another pandemic!)
SELF CARE
Now is the BEST time to look after yourself. Set yourself a self care routine, set yourself a skincare routine, set yourself at least something where you will benefit in any sort of way! You can find examples of them via Pinterest such the ones below where there is either a checklist or where each day is allocated on a task you could be doing. Bare in mind for skin care routines plans, every skin is different - you do now, I REPEAT, DO NOT have to use the exact same routine as these examples, and you do NOT have to use product every single day. What I like to do is follow the below routine every week but I'll have two of the days, such as Thursday and Tuesday, where I don’t apply anything at all on my skin, or if I really want to, I'll just apply one thing such as a moisturiser or a natural face oil on that day. So please do tweak it according to your skin type and how your skin handles products.

Another thing is your hair! Long days at home mean we can sleep with oils overnight or have a hair mask on for hours, without having to rush the process like we would have if it was a hectic day where you gotta go out in couple of hours. The best DIY hair masks would a mask that contains at least yogurt, honey, eggs or all combined. They're all amazing because:

🍶 YOGURT - provides proteins for the hair which adds onto the nourishment and improves the strength for the hair
🍯 HONEY - acts as a emollient for hair skin body so honey in general makes things soft
🥚 EGGS - promote hair growth, yolk is super useful for dry hair.
Talking of DIY, I don’t know about you guys but as I have been using antibacterial gel more than often, the skin on the back of my hands started to peel off and even when I apply cream, it would still remain dry. Well the best remedy that helped me is a gentle scrub that contained almond oil and sugar, along side any extra ingredients you’d want such as honey! This is super useful for exfoliating your hands as it not only removes the dead skin cells but also brings back essential oils that is ripped from the harsh alcohol from antibacterial gels. Also did you know that if you don't cream your hands after you wash your hands, your hands age faster? yeah, just don't forget to continue creaming your hands!!!
WHAT TO DO?
I'm sure most of you guys have done this but as lockdown may be coming to an end soon, it is best to use the time wisely and do as much cleaning and clear out possible as you may not find the time to do so. Find new ways organise things, move things around, buy new pretty storage items; amazon is SUPER useful at the moment. There are people on tiktok that are showng their 'amazon finds/faves' which led to me buying quite alot of things, turning out to be super useful. People on tiktok are showing many useful. One of my purchases is this 360 spinning organiser, really helpful in fitting in ALOT of items. It comes in three different colours but I only realise there was more colours on delivery day but oh wells baby pink still does the trick.
Also, don’t forget to chuck out products that are out of date as the products are less effective and even lead to breakouts.
Spend some time with your family; give each other a little spa day, watch movies and throwback episodes on Netflix, prime amazon and disneplus, relax from digital screens and play some classic monopoly, blackjacks/ crazy eights, UNO cards which can be ordered from amazon - games like bullsh!t and bingo is great fun too (for bingo, pick 9 numbers from eg 1-30 then use a number generator to see who first win, sounds silly but its hella fun!)
RAMADAN REMINDERS
Ramadan Mubarak to you all! Ramadan is here and we’re a week in! So many things to do such as completing the Quran in 30 days by reading 1 chapter each day and after each prayer. Just reading a letter in the Quran, you get 10 rewards ♡
"Rasulallah (Sallallahu Alaihi wasallam) said: ”Whoever reads a letter from the Book of Allah will receive a hasanah (good deed) from it (i.e. his recitation), and the hasanah is multiplied by ten. I do not say that Alif-Laam-Meem is (considered as) a letter, rather Alif is a letter, Laam is a letter, and Meem is a letter.”[At-Tirmidhi, Ad-Darimi]".
And in ramadan, all rewards are multiplied by 70 so imagine the reward of reading the Quran during ramadan!!
Moreover, it was held that those who struggle get double the reward ♡
"Aa’ishah (RA), relates that the Prophet (sallAllahu ‘alaihi wa sallam) said: "Verily the one who recites the Qur’an beautifully, smoothly, and precisely, he will be in the company of the noble and obedient angels. And as for the one who recites with difficulty, stammering or stumbling through its verses, then he will have TWICE that reward.” [Al-Bukhari and Muslim]"
It is also important to know what our prophets (may peace be upon them) did and how they contribute to our religion. Click here to see the YouTube channel of these prophecy stories! Although it is set out to be for children, it really helped me understand and engage as well as revise what happened with our prophets (may peace be upon them) - I recommend it soooo much for all types of ages because I actually learnt so much from these videos.
Another website I found useful is http://www.sujood.co this helps us read duas for a certain emotion which I found sooo initiative and helpful which not only can be used during ramadan but for whenever and wherever!
Moreover, for females during mensuration, please read as much dhikr as possible and listen to the quran; There is also a list of duas I found from @dinapapii (twitter) who has created a sheet filled of them!
and lastly, here is a pdf of a ramadan planner which @sultana.jm (instagram) put on her story - we're unknown of the person who made it so if anyone knows who, please let me know so I can credit them. It is super helpful especially when you're aiming to do quite a lot during ramadan and you wanna make sure you're doing it by using the planner - such a wonderful concept!
Hope those tips are useful; use your time so wisely guys because we won't able to have this long period where we get to reflect upon ourselves as well as well as really looking after ourselves and our families - be forever grateful for the position you are in today! Also, please make sure to be having food that take longer to digest to help you be more productive and less tired during the day! I hope everyone is staying safe and millions of claps and applauses to the NHS nurses who have been the real hero during this difficult time - may Allah SWT reward them greatly! <3333
Forever & Always, T x
