So I went to the body shop after a long time as my local one has sadly closed down (fuming when I found out!!!) and when I went in, I thought to give myself some pampering love to my skin after my trip to Manchester earlier this year around febuary. All that going out meant that I was constantly putting a whole load of slap on my face each day, which would be more than my usual face-do’s. I went in into the body shop with an open mind and without looking into the reviews so much. The lady there was super super lovely and helpful; I told her I was going through some of the things and just asked what’s this for what’s that for and she would demonstrate it onto my hand to see how it works and explained benefits really well; I ended up buying the two that’s shown here.

What is what?
So the first thing I got was this daily solution which is great for blemished skin. It’s "Enriched with Community Trade tea tree oil from the foothills of Mount Kenya". It also says on the box the result of the skin each week which is written the following:
"After 1st Use: skin feels buried, soothed and looks oil-free.
After 7 Days: overall appearance of skin is improved; skin looks clearer, smoother and healthier with no pore-clogging effect.
After 4 Weeks: number of imperfections such as tone, gesture and oiliness look visibly reduced; skin appears mattified."
I got this because I wanted to control as well as protect my skin from the city's pollution as I was regularly going out (to university mainly) and I felt my skin was breaking out because of the trains as well as the pollution around me. Also, another factor includes the fact that I I started to wear foundation more regularly as I never used to do this much like two years ago which meant my skin was just clogged for like 8-10 hours a day. Tea tree oil in general is one of the best to control mild acne or minor spots as it has antibacterial properties and calms down any inflammation, so I thought why not give this a go.
The second item was a liquid peel where it peels off the dirty from your skin once you swirl it around for a good twenty minutes; it’s a liquid exfoliator which had brightening features as it has red algae "harvested from the North Atlantic" (it’s a type of seaweed which is super great for the skin as it’s rich in minerals and vitamins which what your skin needs now and then, especially mine!)

The Verdict:
🌿 Tea Tree Anti-Imperfection Daily Solution - £13 - *best seller mentioned on the website* - so I used this every day and night with three drops each time as mentioned on the box and for the first week, it was great as I felt like my skin was getting better but then it said on the box that on the second week, skin should feel mattified but that wasn’t the case for me; the more weeks gone by, I felt like even though it was working to control only some of the spots I had.
🌿 Also, my skin felt quite dry after the constant uses but it actually made sense because tea tree is quite drying on the skin. So what I currently do now is that I ONLY use it if I know I’m going to be out for so long or mainly use it on the days that I know I’m going to use the train; after I got into that routine, that I felt like it was more effective that way than using it daily as mentioned.
🌿 Rating: 4/5
🌿 Is it worth purchasing: if you use the trains a lot in London or around pollution a lot such as cars or buses, yes because the amount of dirt that goes on the skin, (which could create excess sebum, mild acne or textured skin) the tea tree oil can help calm the skin and be used as a barrier to combat the germs that’s going to stick to your skin!

☄️ Drops of Light™ Pure Resurfacing Liquid Peel- £18 - so I used this around three times a week exactly how the lady demonstrated in the store; by squirting two pumps and massaging it in circles onto my skin until I know theres is nothing left to massage. After that, wiping it with damp towel and ending it with washing my face.
☄️ On my lazy days, instead of using a damp towel to remove the excess after massaging it onto the skin, I did try to just skip that and just wash my face but I found that the bits on my skin wouldn’t get off so I just did it the way it was written and told to me, by using a damp towel to remove it!
☄️ When I read into liquid peel, I found that the product had an ingredient that actually creates the little bits to make it seem like it’s the dirt from your skin but I thought to still give it a chance and see if it actually make a change to my face. After a month of using it, I realised it made a MASSIVE difference to my skin. Firstly, I had some scars which ended up fading way (love it!) and secondly I was using a foundation shade for two years and it got to the point where that colour became too dark for me because my skin has brightened massively! Then I realised that even though it does have that ingredient that creates that build up on the skin, in reality it reacts to your skin to actually take the top layer of your skin off which automatically becomes brightens and replenished; So the verdict is that red algae actually works!
☄️ Rating: 5/5
☄️ Is it worth it? YES! I have recommended this to all types of people with difference skin types including those who are sensitive to certain skincare but this hasn’t made them break out and worked great with their skin as well as making such a difference in terms of brightness and removal of scars!
Make sure you do your research around it if you're still unsure and if you do decide to buy any of these two, just for that extra reassurance, ask the advisors if its well suited for your skin; if not I'm sure there's something out there for you in that store as they have loads of different serums as well as liquid peeling exfoliators; until then..
Forever & Always, T x
