I'm about to review one of my favouuuurite brands, one of many reasons being that its one of the brands that doesnt have the hype it deserves! If I literally got a chance to choose a skincare brand to work in, Pixi would be the first in the list! This brand is amazing when it comes to their skincare as they provide more on the botanical and 'powerful ingredients' side rather than the nasties that just destroy your skin.
With most of the products being alcohol free, (plus point here), paraben free (another plus point!) and not tested on animals (we got three plus points here!!!) The skincare within this brand is quite extraordinary and I just wish I got there earlier! So letsss get into it; in this blog I shall be reviewing two products which I have religiously used; first being the Pixi retinol tonic and the second being the Pixi rose oil blend
Retinol Tonic
In my first post, I mentioned how I never use toners as any I would use would break me out, even if it includes natural rose water, therefore toners were never part of my skincare regime.
But when I came across this toner, something really drawed me towards it. I never really tried retinol at this point but I knew it was really amazing, especially if you have acne prone skin. During the time I found this toner was when I was at uni and my skin was constantly breaking out. I found stuff that would help calm it but again, retinol really stood out for me then and I felt like I had to try something that was retinol based to see if it makes a different to my skin; basically a test and trial. When I did my research, I saw loads of good reviews but then again, the Mario badescu toner worked for everyone except me! So then I looked at the ingredients and thats what pulled me in. This product has no fragrance (imagine!!!), many different essential oils and normal oils as well as hydrating humectants such as glycerin (which draws and retains moisture to the skin). The ingredients starts with hydrating ingredients, then with the retinol and jasmine flower extracts in the middle and then other oils and citric acid near the end.
What this product claimed to do is the following:
"This multi-action treatment with time release Retinol also replenishes skin with potent Antioxidants. • Time-release Retinol reduces fine lines & smoothes complexion. • Peptides firm skin & boost collagen production. • Jasmine Flower heals & balances."
Normally when I buy skincare, my silly self buys full size versions however, for once in my life, I decided to start small with this because I didn't know if it would work for me so there was no point investing in £18 just yet, so I bought the small version.

This is one of the products that changed my skincare game completely. I use this every time I cleanse my face, whether its in the morning or during the evening. It really helped my skin in calming down some acne I had during summer 2019. It also helps calm and sooth my my skin when cleansing my skin as I sometimes either double or triple cleanse (this is when I wear heavy make up or I can feel my skin really oily or greasy). Its super lightweight and dries up quickly onto the skin, I usually use one cotton pad of this product. I think this is great for those who either want to try out a calming toner, try retinol or wants something to help calm their mild acne. I know you’re supposed to change your skincare every 6-12 months but this is something I cannot live without. I never thought I'd find a toner that my skin doesnt react badly to AND help improve the condition of my skin. Not to mention once again that this has no ‘parfum/fragrance’ as a ingredient which is even more fabulous as it isn’t irritating at all.
Rose Oil Blend
This beauty is a discovery I collected last year, first lockdown when I was buying my essential items from boots during a lucky sale. It normally retails for £26 but I had the chance to buy it at £18.
This oil contains “sweet almond, rosehip jojoba, pomegranate seed and rose granium oils to nourish the complexion”. It further states the following:
Rose Geranium Oil tones & balances • Pomegranate Seed Oil has powerful Antioxidant properties • Rosehip Oil is a moisturising superfood"

✨ It was the pomegranate seed oil for me. ✨ As soon as I saw that ingredient I thought why not try it out after seeing the rest of the list of ingredients. Again, this has no alcohol so its not harsh for the skin nor any parfum/fragrances. As you guys know from my fave sheet mask review, pomegranate is a beneficial ingredient for the skin due to its antioxidant properties. As it contains almond oil, I knew this had to be the replacement of my sweet almond oil which I've been using for yeaaaars. You guys already know how sweet almond oil helps with skin, especially around hyperpigmentation and scarring, but imagine that, with other oils that contribute to the regrowth of the skin cells. It's super lightweight on the skin and easy to control with the dropper provided; I usually use up three drops each usage. This oil also helped my skin become more smoother in terms of texture and clearer in terms of scarring- I loveeee using this after my serum and before my spf; it also creates such a smooth base whenever I wear foundation, leaving the skin looking super silky. {p.s. can we just appreciate my product photography here🤩 - it really took four hands to create this loooooool}
Ratings and does it work?

I hope this goodiesss work for you as much as it did for me! bare in mind I have combo skin, so the toner and the oil should able to work for everyone aswell as I said they're both super lightweight on the skin.
